DJ Tim Jones

My real name is Tim Jensen, I am 47 years young, I come from northern Germany (Kiel) and I am a part-time DJ (self-employed with a trade-licence).
How did I get into music? It started with my older brother. In 1991, he gave me a cassette tape with techno tracks on it. The compilation called “Techno Trax”. He said, “Here, Tim, have a listen. It’s pretty cool.” Until then, I only knew the music my parents listened to. That what was on the cassette was something completely different, and I loved it from the very beginning!

So it came about that I had to have almost every CD with electronic music. I was a welcome guest at parties, as I always brought the best and latest records with me. I was therefore more or less responsible for the music. A small mixer (Stage Line) was soon purchased.
I then started making my own mix compilations on CD for my friends and mates. I was happy that we could listen to the music I loved so much together. And I was happy when they played my mixes at their parties or in their cars.

Then came my family time, and music was only listened in the car or at home with headphones.
Soon after, the coronavirus pandemic hit, and everyone had to stay at home. I bought a DJ controller (Denon SC-Live) and started DJing for myself and (again) for my friends, posting my sets on YouTube, SoundCloud and Mixcloud. A local radio station lets me play “my” music every Friday evening.
